Vettaikaran, this is the new film of Vijay after Villu. Reusing the titles of old blockbusters is the new trend in Tamil cinema. Vijay is also doing the same.

Vettaikaran was the film of MGR ( Dr. M G Ramachandran )

AVM’s Balasubramaniam is the producer of the film. Babu Sivan assistant of director dharani is directing the movie.

As per news, Asin the preference of Vijay to be the heroine of the movie and they rejected Naynthara from the list, as her recent movies not did well at the box office and also she is doing villu. immediate next film with the same pair would be a risk at box office. that's the reason.

ilayathalapathy avarkala, nayanthara, asin, trisha pair poothum. try with new girls. they are all boring. try to pick some new bombay models for the heroine in vettaikaran. fans will like it. don't try the same old combination. boradikuthu.

Suriya is actively engaged to complete the film Aadhavan soon. He takes extra care to make sure that his acting works and respects the sensibilities of the audience.

He will be starting to work for Singam which is to be directed by Hari. Singam will be his 25th film and his role is a cop. But he has to put on weight for this film or will he retain the six-pack abs?

The story of Singam is taken in a city. Anushka is choosen to play the female actor and music is by Devi Sri Prasad.

Suriya will also be playing a significant role in director Ram Gopal Varma's next film, marking his entry into Bollywood.

"Karunai is a commercial film which has strong storyline," says director Ilan, who makes his introduction as writer, director and hero in this film. The story of this film revolves around a family of husband and wife with their mentally challenged young son. Ilan visited many special schools in the city to select a child to cast in his film. Finally, Balaji has been chosen to play the role in Karunai. Ilan has also taken popular mimicry artist Senthil to the big screen through this film. Nearly 50% of the shooting has been completed."Karunai is a positive film. It has lot of manner lacking seriousness and fun," guarantees Ilan.

Shriya Updates

We all have 24 hours for a day but looking at the number of films Shriya is acting in, looks like 48 hours for a day is not enough.

In Tamil, she has 'Kandasamy,' 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan' and a new film with Ajith. She has 2 films in Telugu. Her Hindi films include 'Ek' with Bobby Deol, 'Mission Istanbul' with Abhishek Bachchan. There's also the Hollywood film and a song with Vadivelu.

Shriya's list does not end here. For many months Simbu's 'Silambattam' has been gathering dust and the project is being revived again. Saravanan turns director with this film. There was great speculation earlier about whether Simbu would be acting in this film.

Now it has been confirmed that he is. They have approached Shriya to do the heroine role and it seems as soon as she heard that her quote was agreeable, she immediately okayed without even hearing the story.

Simbu has first complete 'Kaalai' and then 'Kettavan.' It would be hardly surprising if Shriya has by then become a Hollywood dream girl!

It is not enough to have talent alone. One also needs a lot of luck. Lingusamy's'Ji' and now'Bhima' are having inordinate delays for getting released.

But Lingusamy is busy getting his next script ready. The news about this are varied. One is, he is to direct Chiranjeevi's son Ramcharan Teja. The other is, the hero is Karthi of'Paruthiveeran' fame.

The smart Lingusamy has made both news come true. The Tamil film produced by his company Tirupathi Brothers has Karthi as hero. He is directing the same film in Telugu at the same time and Ramcharan Teja is the hero in that. Two mangoes with one stone!

The Telugu film could be produced by Tirupathi Raja. After Karthi completed his work in'Aayirathil Oruvan,' he will start work in Lingusamy's film.

We all know that Ajith's 'Aegan' is set for a Deepavali release. But, the question that lingers is, what's the next venture of the ultimate star? Talks and buzzes are going around that Ajith has joined hands for the first time with Gautham Vasudevan Menon for Sivaji Productions.

Ajith will don the role of a gangster, which he's poise in doing after 'Billa' and Sameera Reddy has been roped in to play the role of his girl friend. As usual, Gautham's Chief Marksman Harris will score the music. Nirav Shah, the man behind the grand looks of 'Billa', will wield the camera once again for this flick.

Director Gautham has suggested an attractive title 'Surangani' for the film. But the same title has been registered for another film which is under production. Sivaji Productions is currently making negotiations with the producers to acquire the same, catchy title.

The film will go to the floors in November and is slated to be released on April 14, 2009.

Things are not what they were between actor Madhavan and his mentor Mani Ratnam. The one time favorite of Ratnam, now finds himself replaced in the director's favor by none other than Abhishek Bachchan. In his latest film, which is being made in Hindi and Tamil, he does not have any role for Madhavan.

Madhavan owes his career in the South to the ace director. The two of them have notched many successes in Tamil. But it seems that during the making of Yuva, Ratnam took a great liking to Abhishek and that showed in his role in the film. Subsequently, Ratnam made Guru and Abhishek was given the lead role while Madhavan was reduced to playing second fiddle and how. Now that Ratnam is making his next feature in Hindi, which is apparently based on the Ramayana, he has again opted for the Abhishek Aishwarya pair, as he did in Guru. Govinda finds a role in the film and so does southern star Vikram. The Tamil version too does not have any role for Madhavan. In fact, Vikram who is playing the role of Ravan in the Hindi version will be playing the role of Ram, with Ash as his Sita in the Tamil version. But for now, in the Hindi version, we have Abhi Ash as Ram and Sita. And poor Madhavan is out in the cold.
